About Bulletin Businesses

Turn over almost any Catholic parish bulletin and the back pages are full of local businesses: the plumber, the funeral home, the family dentist. Those businesses chose to reach that parish community, and their advertising helps pay for the bulletin.

That information is useful and nearly impossible to search. It sits in separate weekly PDFs, on separate parish websites, under separate publishers. If you want to know which roofers advertise in the parishes near you, or how long a business has been showing up, there has been nowhere to look.

Bulletin Businesses organises that public record into a searchable local directory. For each business we show which parish bulletins it has been documented in, when it first appeared, when it most recently appeared, and the source for each claim.

What a listing means

A listing means a business has been documented advertising in a parish publication, or has asked to be included. It does not mean the business is Catholic owned, that a parish recommends it, or that we vouch for its work. Where a business is Catholic owned we say so separately, and we say whether that is self-reported or verified.

Where we are

We are starting in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area and building outward. The record is designed to cover any parish, any bulletin publisher and any region.

Independent

This is an independent project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any parish, diocese, the Catholic Church or any bulletin publisher.
